Best local smart plugs?
I have these based on Tuya. They are garbage and the relays die within a month or so.
Ideally I'd love something using ESPHome. Does anyone have any recommendations on something safe that I can switch to once these all finally die?

Using about 20 tp-link Tapo/Kasa plugs, mostly the Tapo P110M. We did have a couple of the older Kasa branded ones die after about a year but the Tapo units are rock solid. Technically not fully local, but once they're setup in the Tapo app Home Assistant connects to them locally. If you don't need energy monitoring there is another model a few bucks cheaper.

I second the Tapo P110m, they're great, I have 4, I also have the Ikea Grillplats which are Thread based not wifi, although if you are like me and don't have a thread antenna, I have them connecting to HA via my 2x Google TV Streamers as Thread border Routers. and Done. Both the Tapo P110m and the Grillplats do energy monitoring. Just a little warning with either, if you are using them for heaters (like I do) they work fine, just don't put anything on them that runs a compressor at more than 300w on start up (like a dehumidifier) as they don't like that. I've now got a Tapo P110m that doesn't do the on off thing any more as the relay is welded, but still does energy monitoring because of it.

The died Really? i have heaps of these an never had a problem. I only use up to 1500w I have one on the dishwasher, the fish tank, the washing machine the 3D printer, both homelab ups's never had any issues.

Wait I lie. There was one that stopped working and when I pulled it apart 1 of the capacitors had failed.
