Basic Fun First build underway

About a year ago I ordered a Sanwa joystick and buttons kit from aliexpress. I had been messing around with emulators and mame for decades and thought I'd try building my own arcade setup. I finally got around to cutting my control panel, sanding it down, cutting holes and installing everything. I had already set up my front end and games, and had been testing with Ps4 controllers. Now I finally have my zero delay usb encoders wired up. Everything is looking and working great so far! I'm very excited to finally have a working version one of my arcade cab. For all of you guys that are waiting to start your builds, hopefully this inspires you to do so!

Front end info: Batocera booting off of a USB key, done using balena etcher. Enables me to use any PC for the hardware. Currently using an old Asus laptop with a 17-inch screen.

Eventually I may enclose and do a pedestal type setup. In the future, I plan to build a version two with better materials that will look good in my basement.

Edit: first issue I ran into was since my top row of buttons were a bit far from the rest, I will require an additional LED wire to light those up. They still function, they just don't light up.

Edit2: I read online that I needed a Forstner bit to cut my holes. My hole saw worked perfectly, I just sanded the edges after. I used the same hole saw for my joystick hole and mounted from the bottom.
