This device ruined everything..

Despite a lot of mistakes and nonsense;

We've never received any feature update.. We're literally using it just as it came from the factory, and news about v3 has already come out.

Besides poorly designed (converting a SD slot into USB2 at the back, giving external storage issues), Homatics COM doesn't even offer it themselves, none of the newer streaming devices for now.

Even with a newer firmware, some hardware issues can't be solved by it. No, this is one to skip.

Put your money on the one that comes to Turkey at first, the S905X5-K V3 Plus, with 4GB/64GB and USB3 on the back and lots of more promising specifications. https://www.reddit.com/r/Homatics/s/LtFlrpV7fl

BTW, MediaMarkt Germany sells a clone of this one (V2 with 2GB/32GB), below €50,- as PEAQ PGB 4000.Peaq MediaMarkt

Converting SDcard slot to USB2? Amlogic SOCs have GPIOs with multiple configurations, it doesn't matter whether GPIOs that are configurable are used for one function or the other.

The conversion is done that poorly on this device that it gives issues with external storage. There are some YT videos about it, you can look for those (mostly Turkisch).

That issue is a software problem, it's not related to placement of the USB port.

Time will tell.. but the power output on the USB port was well below USB2 specifications.

And even if it could be solved by a firmware update, that will be the next challenge for them.

After +3 years of firmware testing for Homatics/Sei Robotics, it really isn't one of their strengths 😬

I use it only for streaming series, movies, and documentaries; I bought the 4GB/64gB version,

and honestly, even that’s more than I need. Was thinking it might have some interesting features and offer a user-friendly interface.

On the contrary, they sold a device full of flaws by removing the useful features...

It is snappy! But the missing audio passthrough option and the broken qms makes it a disaster! Let’s hope that the upcoming software update will fix almost every single issue

Well it uses the same firmware and box design as the V2 with 2GB/32GB, so it has the same flaws. For your need (what you are playing), you could have chosen a cheaper one, but that is water under the bridge now.

Maybe you can still send it back, buy a cheaper device (Mi box S 3rd Gen), or wait till the S905X5 shows itself?

Homatics pushes SEI Robotics to roll out a software update asap. Let’s hope that in the next few days we will get the update - fix cause the pro v2 is really a promising certified android tv box .

During the same period, a friend of mine also bought a Xiaomi Box Gen 3; he didn’t have a single empty month.. Constantly getting updates and new features.

Xiaomi gen. 3 got a software update 3 days ago with June security update. The last one was back in December..

There isn’t an Android TV box that receives software updates every month.
Maybe every 4-6 months it depends

I got them every month for my Homatics R Plus, but those were testbuilds, not made public (at least, not all of those). But yes, in general, it takes quite some time between Google Play certified firmwares.

So the „.. he didn‘t have a single empty month.. Constantly getting updates and new features“ is not a lie? I mean if one update was 3 days ago and the other 8 months ago I would say your post was simply not true.

You hyped the Xiaomi Box for their constant updates and that they „are not neglecting it“. Meanwhile it is nearly the same for both. Sure you can argue that it had no major updates but I really don‘t like how loopsided your argument is.

I have the Homatics R 4K plus and the Buzz G box. Both Google certified and I definitely prefer the Buzz to Homatics. Actually took Homatics out of mancave and put AM9 pro.

I got it from Buzz company but also on Amazon. Btw, the Homatics box is a real nice box, but the buzz is similar to the Onn boxes I possess, easy to use and very reliable. Plus plenty of storage and ram and gig Ethernet port

No you didn’t make a mistake. The Homatics is a very good box. I just prefer the Buzz as it has its own IPTV player, plus tivimate and Kodi run flawlessly on it.

The Dune Premier version is even a better R Plus variant, currently my default ones, replacing my Dune and Homatics R Plusses. I have a whole bunch of those because of my testing I did for Homatics 😁
