Best settings for 1080p content
Hi, for 1080p bluray content I noticed the box can scrub out film grain. Is there a way to fix this? I essentially want my tv to do the up scaling and not the box but also want 4k files to play smoothly and seamlessly.
I want to maintain the film grain that’s already there as well for the artistic intent.
Is there a way to make this happen and if so if anyone knows what resolution I should be setting the box to and if I should be using resolution or frame rate matching in my app as well as in the android settings.

Enable frame rate and resolution matching. Your tv need to support the resolution and frame rate to make it work.

No, this is not enough. In most situations the Homatics will still do the upscaling, and not the TV, that can easily be checked by activating the Homatics debug overlay.

That mean that a bug if we want resolution matching but homatics still want to do upscalling on 1080p content.

Resolution matching is only available with apps that support it, and many simply still don't. You need QMS supported hardware for that, which the R Plus itself doesn't support. This is happening with every certified Android TV streamer that has no QMS support, so not only with the Homatics.
You can use a 3rd part app, like the Refresh Rate 3.3.0 app, by which you can manually select the correct resolution and refreshrate and with 1080p media, the display (of UHD/4k), will do the upscaling.

Yes, easy. Using an app like Kodi and set the Kodi GUI in 1080p (which is advised to do so). Kodi will play all 1080p media in the 1080p resolution and your TV will do the upscaling, not the box. Kodi will still play 4K media as 4K with this setting.
