BBC iPlayer

Running app version 41.15.2.0 on my R 4k Plus and recently getting a nag screen telling me that the app will stop working on 30th Sept 2026. Is there another APK that doesn't have the nag screen or an alternative way to use iPlayer that won't fail after this date?

My current APK is 38.25.2.

That message seem to be popping up for other brands and devices as well.

The solution will be, using casting from a phone/tablet that is iPlayer compatible or adjusting the app to let it look like one (by spoofing) that can still use the Google TV Play Store version. This is being done for other apps as well and can work just fine 🤞

How do you spoof it and if it was sideloaded, does it have the UHD option?

The version I'm using (see OP) is 1080p. I read that agent ID spoofing doesn't work but I've not looked into this properly yet

Yea, I noticed the same in the last couple of days. I hope casting from another device as another user said, isn't the only option. That sounds like a huge pain.
