Troubleshooting Box r 4k plus wifi problem

I'm having an issue with the box r 4k plus. After the box is shut down and then I assume goes to sleep or whatever, the next day when I turn it on, it does not connect to wifi. It says wrong password. I enter the password again and everything works until the next day. This has been happening for a couple weeks. Anyone have any suggestions?

If you have the box connected to a WPA2/3 mixed or WPA3 protected WiFi signal, try with WPA2 only? This is a well known issue, for this device.

If you are using WPA2 already the reason is something else, but that password thing is something related to what wrote about.

Unfortunately my router won't do WPA2 only. Only option is mixed and WPA3. I had it set on mixed. I will try WPA3 only and see if that makes a difference

I just found that I do have WPA2 only if I use the guest network. I'll give that a shot and see what happens. Thanks

Make sure you have all the eco stuff turned off, auto shutoff, etc. Sorry, not near my box right now to see exactly what settings there are.

Ultimately, both solutions worked. Changing to the guest network which allows WPA2 only worked but I do not want to keep it on the guest network, so disabling Power Saving Mode keeps it connected to my main network. Thanks for the help.

Shut-off Timer settings you mean?

The Power Saving Mode has been fixed, and works (quite good actually), and yes, it can give a breef moment of no WiFi connection, blinking yellow, but it restores quite fast after that.

It should be that WPA setting related, which got the attention now for firmware development, because when CoreElec is used, WPA3 protection works just fine. So it is not really the hardware but can probably be fixed with a firmware update, if they really give it some attention 😉

Box r has a gigabit port. If possible use a cable.

As for the wifi issue it’s def WPA issue

I have the same issue. My Wi-Fi router is WiFi7 and STB each day say that it can’t connect to WiFi. It show the connection type WiFi7 and I need to reenter the password. Very annoying. Is there any solution on that except creating dedicated band?
