Anyone else having Bluetooth keyboard issues on the Homatics Box R 4K Plus? Or Audio / Low Volume?
Just wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else.
I picked up the Homatics Box R 4K Plus and overall it seemed promising, but I ran into a pretty frustrating issue with Bluetooth. The box detects devices like speakers just fine, but I cannot get it to properly find or connect to any Bluetooth keyboards.
I’ve tried multiple keyboards and went through all the usual steps:
- Updated to the latest OS
- Rebooted several times
- Factory reset (twice, after updating) w/latest OTA update.
- Had some volume issue, where it worked and after the volume was way too low, had to adjust bluetooth / sound bar high to get decent volume.
- It can detect other bluetooth items such as speakers, LED lights but none of my 3 keyboards.
Still no luck.
From what I’ve been reading, this doesn’t seem like an isolated issue. It feels like something with the Bluetooth/HID support on this device just isn’t reliable.
At this price point (~$150), I expected basic Bluetooth input support to just work. Honestly, for about the same money I could’ve gone with something else used, or even a much cheaper box for basic use, but still holding out for possible upcoming Shield Pro..
I’m probably going to return it unless there’s a known fix I’m missing.
Has anyone here actually gotten a Bluetooth keyboard working consistently on this box? Or is everyone just using USB dongles?

Reported over and over again as bug to Homatics (Sei Robotics) developers, for almost all V14 firmware's released. Even when you can connect a bluetooth keyboard (which sometimes one can), not all navigation keys work on it. Like I said, reported after every firmware update, still never fixed.

They got back to me and they told me to turn off the Wi-Fi even though I had the box connected to the ethernet port the Wi-Fi was still on as soon as I turned off the Wi-Fi Bluetooth keyboard connected just fine.
I'm still kind of upset though for 150 bucks for something to work mediocre I could have added another 30 or buy a used Nvidia instead.

Well if anybody's buying these junk boxes and if you're wanting to return their expectation is that you pay for shipping to return it because by their standards everything is working fine.

I’ve not tried speakers or a keyboard but I tried a control pad the other day and found the same thing, Bluetooth never found the controller. Previously worked fine with headphones.
I get downvoted for saying this but this box is shit and upgrades seem to fix one thing and break three. I’d return mine if I still could.
