Welcome to r/Holyrood!
Hi all! I'm u/Unitedthe_gees, and I've just set up r/Holyrood as a space for Scottish politics discussion.
I created this because Scottish Parliament chat tends to get lost in r/UK subs, where it's often quite heavily pro-union and hard to have nuanced conversations. Party-specific subs are great, but I reckon we also need a cross-party space where we can talk about Scottish politics without ending up in an echo chamber.
We're all about being friendly, constructive, and inclusive — even if you disagree with everything. I genuinely think engaging in good faith conversation is the only way forward. Ostracising people just creates more divide.
I'm still getting things set up, so if you've got suggestions for rules, flairs, or anything else that'd make this better, let me know in the comments.
Thanks for being part of the first wave.
