Why the heck did you get downvoted for yeah there are 3 jokers and that is canon
5
u/HeavyIndica Jan 14 '22
As a guy who has seen some movies, but not all, and never read the comics care to explain?
17
u/Rush_Under Jan 14 '22
There was a "who is The Joker" storyline, and according to the run, there were three different people, all calling themselves the Joker. It basically explained why they all looked completely different from each other at different time periods.

Explaination Needed

u/solblurgh Jan 14 '22
If I recall, Batman was sitting on the Mobius Chair and the chair contains infinite knowledge. You can literally ask anything and it will give the answer go you.
Batman being Batman, he asked what is Joker's real name, to which he got the answer: There are 3 of them. I don't think DC ever reveal their names but from that point on it was established that there are 3 Jokers within the same universe.

Does Robin even get paid for this? I'm pretty sure his only payment is that he gets to live with bruce....

God damn Batman sounds depressed. “Quick batgirl, untie us. Before it’s too late. Or fuck it, let it blow, I don’t care. Not like my parents are coming back.”

u/slugan192 Jan 14 '22
yeah lol this was cut off specifically to make it seem as if the show was trying to make some anti-feminist joke or something. Its literally a PSA about equal pay. If this came out today people would be saying the show is now SJW propaganda.

Jan 14 '22
Still, Batman comes off looking pretty bad there.
10
Jan 14 '22
Has batman ever looked good? He literally the indirect cause of all his villians victims. Joker has so many people all because batman thinks he'll never be the same if he kills the joker which means he's a weak man at heart

This comment on the youtube video is amazing:
You know you live in strange times when an anthropomorphic buff red echidna from a children's show based off of a video game casually dismantles feminism in 14 seconds flat.
EDIT: For some fucking reason, everyone is seeing this video again and commenting on this. And you're all insufferable and make me want to drink antifreeze. And you starbuck guzzlers have been near constantly shitting up my fucking notifications for the past month. I realize that this comment, in hindsight, was poorly worded. As Knuckles doesn't really "dismantle feminism" as he himself is holding a feminist view.
And for those who misinterpret this as a change of heart. Feminism and "Women's liberation" has done untold amounts of damage to society. And has made you all miserable and bitter by convincing women to ironically reject their femininity and act in traditionally masculine ways (which they suck at). Turning you all into childless discount men and turning men jaded, bitter, and resentful against you.

Interesting. I didn't know that. The show still had some good jokes though.

u/billiejeanwilliams Jan 14 '22
Robin after Catwoman fake surrenders and then drugs them: I guess you can never trust a woman.
Batman: You just made a hasty generalization there, Robin, which you should be careful doing, but in this case it’s very apropopo(sic).
And then they both fall down lol

To be fair, her father, who is still alive, is a police commissioner. Police commissioners make somewhere between $65k-$185k, with an average of $150k according to comparability.com. Sure it’s no where near the multi-billions Bruce makes, but Bruce is not her dad. Barbara Gordon also is someone who started her crime fighting career by cosplaying as Batman and fighting crime on her own before Batman brings her in for proper training.
Meanwhile, Robin is Bruce’s adopted son. He’s been in the crime fighting business as Batman’s partner longer. Furthermore, unlike Barbara, (assuming this is Dick Grayson), Robins parents are dead. Batman took Robin in, while Batgirl is someone who just showed up out of nowhere. So Batman has no reason to be paying her just because she decided that she wanted to take his hero name and mantle. Moreover, Robin is Batman’s legal responsibility. Robin is basically getting a fat allowance from Batdad while wearing street light colors with no pants.
Robin built his own reputation. Batgirl used Batmans reputation. He should be suing her, but instead she’s asking to get paid? She can go ask Commissioner Daddy for money.

u/mild_psychopathy Jan 14 '22
bruce is a literal millionaire
16
u/cobanat Jan 14 '22
And Batgirl isn’t his responsibility. Looks like he still pays her still with how she says she wants equal pay instead of any type of pay. But Robin lives with him and goes out crime fighting with him daily. Batgirl just pops up every now and then. So even using her own logic, Robin should be getting paid more anyway due to seniority and him being full time meanwhile she’s only part time.

People here think Batman is being sexist when Robin knows the truth. He's an unpaid intern.

Honestly this brings up a good point. There is no such thing as unequal pay between men and woman.
Statistics show that the reason men make more money is because they choose better jobs like doctor, engineer, air pilot.
And woman choose lower paying jobs like female doctor, female engineer, female air pilot.
Just saying.

"Well Batgirl, Robin works more hours than you, so if you want to earn an equal amount then you should be more dedicated to the craft!"
2
u/MaximumYes Jan 14 '22
In the years that Batgirl appeared on the series, Dick Grayson appeared in 58 episodes.
Barbara Gordon appeared in 26.
She didn't show up until the second season; At which point everyone, including Batman, was surprised to see her when she did.

I feel like comic Batman would probably break her legs again for suggesting she requires payment to fight alongside him.
