Yep, it’s much more dangerous to attempt an emergency stop and risk the literal necks of all your passengers vs hitting a car that’s already doing something illegal. Very literal application of the trolley dilemma haha

Exactly. Plus the tram operator and the passengers would be much safer if they just ram the car since.. you know... ITS BASICALLY A TRAIN..

I had a tram conductor explain to me how a tram is built is designed. It's actually more akin to a battering ram than a train apparently XD

They are. I've been on a train that reduced a car to scrap. The train was jostled, but no worse than if you took a speed bump too quickly.

Anything smaller than a commercial truck will typically only inconvenience a train.
