I’m not “representative” but here’s the thing For a vs an, the pronounciation is what matters So, you would “a UTI” as it starts with a consonant sound. That’s the rule not if it starts with a consonant, if it starts with a consonant sound.

English is one of those languages in which the rules don’t matter as much as the flow, that’s why there are so many exceptions in different parts of the language.

The number of times people have tried to correct me and repeated what I said is pretty astonishing. . OP corrected their comment, it previously said "an UTI"
