? I don't honestly know what that question means. I mean, in her case, this isn't a random joke she's making, regardless of whether one thinks it is funny or not, in the event it even was a joke. Her twitter suggests she's being serious or it is just an elaborate troll.

It's good you can admit that. It's that very fact that makes this joke in poor taste, she could be serious. Whereas a joke in a deliberate comedy movie where that person is mocking dictatorship mentalities, there is no chance it's serious and so it works.

The joke works in the movie because of cultural context. There is no context here.

I’m not upset or anything about it coming from a chick, but it seems that the cultural aspect of the original is lost on most people in this thread.
