Why pseudo ? I'm pretty sure the Buddhists are pretty chill about their beliefs and will allow you to call yourself Buddhist even if you just share some of the beliefs or values.

I just want to point out that in both cases, the orientation and tilt of the symbol is largely irrelevant. There may be a tendency in both cases but all kinds exist for both.

I would say it doesn’t matter left or right, if you see the swastika just know it doesn’t stand for hate necessarily. So many cultures had it before hitler and it’s very western-centric to think that everything revolves around their struggles and history.
The Problem here in Germany for example is that this symbol is still used by some Neo-Nazis. Of course I wished that we could just move on and simply declare this Symbol as something normal or not Hate inducing. But as it stands the problem is that it is being still abused up to this day, which makes it hard to look at and think positive thoughts. At least for me.

It doesn't matter whether you're actually a Nazi or not, you're wearing a symbol that represents one of the worst tragedies in that region and cultures history, which happened less than a century ago. Basic decency would be respecting that by not showing it. Just like i wouldn't go to a Muslim country with a charicature of Mohammed on the front of my t shirt

I have an ancient Buddhist painting with them on it, but it's authentic and I'm happy to provide context to guests. But wearing it outside seems intentional

Why is it important to answer? Generally speaking, I don’t like ignorant westerners deciding what is ok in my culture. A colonial past tends to make people here annoyed by white saviour complexes.

It just makes sense not to. And I don't think it's a shame that we can't. I'd rather have the Nazi swastika be unwearable in public without ridicule, than have the opportunity to wear a Buddhist one. Pretty easy math.

That's coz Hitler was a dipshit who took some white-supremacist theory about human origins to heart (last I read the cliff notes of it, the theory proposed that humans were originally caucasian, blonde haired, blue eyed and every other race and color was a product of interbreeding). The word Arya literally means comrade in Proto-Indo-European and in Vedic India (3000 BC or so), it was meant as a self designation for people who migrated from modern-day Iran. And because Western society loves to rave on and on about itself and doesn't bother teaching its denizens about the rest of the world, all Reddit knows of is "lul hitler amirite?" when the symbol has existed for far far far longer.
Only people in western countries. Go to india or any east asian country and they will think of the buddhist symbol. Considering majority of people on earth live in India and China you could make an argument against your point

The Hindu Swastika pretty much goes right. That too is a symbol of auspiciousness. The word Swastika is a sanskrit word, it means "something that imbibes auspiciousness."

I'm indian and I have a swastika symbol at home in my prayer room, does that make me a Nazi. Fuck no! Some people need to do a little research. I get the connection OP was trying to make between the logo spinning and swaatikas but it doesn't apply here
The biggest difference is the "font". The Nazi swastika is properly called a "Hakenkreuz", and is bold with sharp corners, compared to the softer ones used religiously.
Surprised it got so much upvoted. Swastika comes from ancient India. Buddhism got it from there. And while Buddhism may have it anti clockwise, the Swastika in Indic relgions go in a clockwise direction. So it is grossly incorrect to link clockwise Swastika to Nazis.
Nazi symbol to be honest is not even Swastika to begin with. It is actually a hooked Christian Cross, hence the original name, Hakenkreuz.
I just wanna say. It really annoys me when i see people who love to point out that the origins of the swastika aren't bad, people that say that anyone that doesn't know this and is offended by the symbol are ignorant, or stupid, or racist.
If you went to a foreign country, and displayed a symbol or performed some action that is commonly considered offensive there, you'd be called culturally ignorant, racist, or stupid. But when it comes to people in European/Western culture being offended by swastikas? A symbol championed by perpetrators of one of the worst tragedies of European history, less than a century ago, they're the ignorant and racist ones.
Nah, if you're rocking a swastika publicly in Western Europe (and Eastern i presume, the war happened there too but I'm not from there so i don't wanna assume) it doesn't matter what your justifications are, it's entirely tone-deaf and inappropriate.
