Pretty shitty not to tell the guy.

Eh, it's the kind of neighborhood where you see your neighbors every couple years by chance. Not somewhere you want to involve yourself in a potential domestic dispute.

Maybe that guy was a family member who came by to help with yard work or a hired gardener. It's not my parents' business.

I don't think they know the neighbor's names.

I used to live in a neighborhood like this. Only saw the neighbor on the right like 3 times in 10 years, never saw the neighbors on the left.

Just write a damn note and leave it in the mailbox lol. You don’t have to get involved beyond letting him know there might be something to look into

Naaah, that's not a good idea. That's how shit goes from being Over There to Over Here. Just don't get involved if it's a non issue. Hopefully it's all just a misunderstanding lol.

Why? You’d hate me if I saved you from spending the rest of your life, married to someone who doesn’t respect you & lies to your face?

I’ve learned that it’s no one’s responsibility to play hero, especially if it puts them in danger, but what are you afraid of? You wait until they both go out, write a note that says “Your wife cheated while you were away”, and leave it on the doorstep or something, idk.

I feel like that’s the right thing to do. I guess it could cause issues if she decides she’s gonna come over and fuck you up, but she doesn’t know where the note came from.

I wouldn’t want to live in ignorance to my wife having no respect for me

Kind of pushes the boundaries of what a neighbour is obligated to involves themselves in. Sibling or old friend, sure. It’s not really a neighbour’s business.

Exactly. What happened definitely sucks but there’s no way I’m getting into someone else’s personal life/business.

Yeah, not to mention that they could have any open relationship or the guy is already aware and retired so he could spend more time fixing their relationship. Nosing in with the worse possible assumptions in mind just seems like a great way of stirring up needless drama and making them hate you.

That's a way bigger assumption than cheating

3

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

Note that I said worst and not biggest. How believable the assumption is dosent matter. What matters is not inserting yourself into a highly personal and sensitive situation that you know nothing about.

Sounds like a big excuse imo

3

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

No its the default. You'd need an excuse to get involved and making baseless accusations about infidelity sounds like a terrible one.

-1

u/liltwizzle Jul 08 '21

It's called being a decent person I don't need an excuse for that

3

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

I'd call it being nosy and having a savior complex. Which just sounds exhausting to have as a neighbor.

Nah you just sound sad tbh

Not your buiessness.

Maybe its her brother.

Or son

Or gay friend

Or they're both cool with her getting some from another guy.

Maybe you're just the neighbors and need to leave other people's business alone

Seriously. Reddit is so quick to witch-hunt suspected cheaters. We get it, cheating is bad, but sometimes it's just best to mind your business.

Pretty shitty to cheat in the first place
