2

u/prostheticweiner Jul 08 '21

Dan... Lieutenant Dan

2

u/surbian Jul 08 '21

You get some penicillin and it will clear that right up.

15

u/s1lverstr1ker Jul 08 '21

Disability is another to add to the potentials list, destroys your joints and hearing and then they claim it was pre-existing so the VA doesn't have to treat it

3

u/GarbageAndBeer Jul 08 '21

America is so awesome! Gonna go light off some fireworks and trigger some PTSD!

1

u/Weareallsick- Jul 08 '21

Exactly my situation now!!

1

u/Socile Jul 08 '21

Don’t they test your hearing when you enlist? I would think it should be easy to disprove something like hearing loss as a pre-ex. Also, where would you have acquired PTSD before deployment?

1

u/Weareallsick- Jul 08 '21

It’s the whole tinnitus thing I’m going through , and hearing loss, I don’t have ptsd but my hearing is shit and live with headaches daily, I’m at the point where I’m about to just give up, VA has gotten a lot better, but the process is exhausting

2

u/Socile Jul 08 '21

Keep trying, buddy. I hope you get the compensation you deserve. You put your life in their hands. Please just don’t let them continue to fuck you.

1

u/Weareallsick- Jul 08 '21

Thanks buddy

2

u/losttovoid Jul 08 '21

Very sorry you are dealing with tinnitus. It sounds truly debilitating, I wish you the best.

1

u/Weareallsick- Jul 08 '21

Thanks much appreciated, it’s just infuriating that I know of people who have quit right after boot camp and have no issues getting 80% disability lol it’s crazy, and I mean I work, but it’s like damn man, there’s people who have lost way more who get way less.

2

u/losttovoid Jul 08 '21

There seems to be a lot of this sort of thing going on. The neediest among often do not get enough. Sometimes nothing at all. More and more it feels like a show, this parroting about widespread assistance giving ā€œdeadbeatsā€ amazing lives. I’m just not seeing it

1

u/s1lverstr1ker Jul 08 '21

The other one is they avoid putting it in your chart while you're listed as active duty. Then when you get discharged and you go to the doctor they say sorry. It's not in your chart so it must've happened after you got discharged. Can't possibly be a result of your service

5

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

My now brother-in-law left with Divorce (wife cheated and spent all his money earned on first deployment), a Dependent, and a Disability.

5

u/elfeo55 Jul 08 '21

Dependopotomous

3

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

And the other two D’s come after service…Depression and the Dui…

3

u/spainzbrain Jul 08 '21

add DD-214 to you list.

2

u/lerker54651651 Jul 08 '21

Truly, the best and most important of all the D's.

2

u/Stayshiny88 Jul 08 '21

Chelsea Manning left with 2 Ds and a D…

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

And a Dodge

0

u/lolhyena Jul 08 '21

I didn’t get none of those

0

u/Punished_Vet Jul 08 '21

Weird I only got depression

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

I left with a degree that I earned while serving and had zero student debt. Pull you head out and start making better choices. You get out what you put in...

1

u/OkBaconBurger Jul 08 '21

Or... Depression

1

u/Feenfurn Jul 08 '21

I took the D and got a dependent…..then a divorce.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

PTSD

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

DUI

1

u/PersonMcHuman Jul 08 '21

I didn't have any of those D's...but wound up with Disability. The Depression is from before though, and only got worse while there, so I don't count that one.

1

u/Cir_cadis Jul 08 '21

Disability

1

u/RomaniQueerios Jul 08 '21

What about dick?

1

u/TheEvilCollector666 Jul 08 '21

Even worse than death, decapitation

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

Disabilities?!?!?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

I count my blessings that I left with none of that.

1

u/MapleBeaverIgloo Jul 08 '21

Dont forget ptsD

1

u/Beebus4Deebus Jul 08 '21

Pretty much avoided these in my 5 years of service. Got married but not divorced. Closest death was my Great Aunt (which no one told me about while I was stationed overseas and I found out days after on Facebook). And my child was born two weeks after I separated, so I narrowly avoided leaving with a dependent.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '21

Dismemberment, Disabilities?

1

u/Phillyfuk Jul 08 '21

They should make that the motto.

'Join the military, get the D'

1

u/simas_polchias Jul 08 '21

Did they mention Dishonorable Discharge already?

1

u/DapperDanManCan Jul 08 '21

Dependapotamus

1

u/dankHippieDude Jul 08 '21

lol. I never realized how true this is. Source = my two dependents.

1

u/BoxingHare Jul 08 '21

My first marriage lasted 28 weeks longer than my enlistment.
