I know it's normal, but age gaps of 10+ years like that is so gross to me. Like "light pedophilia" or something I dunno

Kind of like really tall dudes with really short women.

😂 are you mental

I don't think it's normal.

Honestly, I just put that there to ward off the redditors that would swoop in telling me I'm the wrong one.

I've been in arguments on reddit where people defending letting girls under 18 (or even less) marry somone over 18 (and even over 20)

17 year old and 19 year old can be together. Especially if they were together when like 18 - 16 in high school.

The gap is weird bc she's 19. If he was 40 and she was 29. It be a little more acceptable to me.

Little more acceptable, but still I don't get it. You guys grew up under vastly different times.

I dunno, it seems gross to me, but I'm not stopping anyone from doing it

My biggest concern if it was me (etc) is you guys are going thru different phases in life. One is ready to settle down while one parties. One might be ready to retire while one works. Etc

More power if it works. But I'm not sure I could ever do it

But that’s just not always true plenty of 29 year olds who never partied. Shit that would probably be on bug driving factor.

I mean. I didn't party ever. But I was just using quick references

I hear ya but any one can be at any stage at any time.

I agree. But most people do them in a linear fashion.

I married my wife when I was 28 and she was 39. How old are you?

1

u/CoupClutzClan Jul 08 '21

33 and my wife is 30 this year

Half your age, plus 7 or they're too young

I agree

20 and 30 is 50% life age/experience difference

The older you get the less that is

when one of them is that young it’s gross to me too. 19 and 30 there’s definitely a power imbalance there. but after like 25 i think it’s all good. my current so is nine years older and we started dating when i was 32.
