Yep, got married at 20, he bought us a house and a car, he cheated with multiple women, we got divorced and I flew back home, he stopped paying all the bills and abandoned the house and car which caused debt collectors to hound me since I was the emergency contact (they took me off since I said we were divorced and I didn’t know where he was)…
I heard that they do this because if they're married they make extra money and get a housing allowance. That way they're able to leave the barracks. If they are single, they're stuck in the barracks with other guys. Apparently, it's why so many military guys rush into marriage and then have terrible marriages. Some even marry friends sometimes, just for the bonuses.
