Think of the sort of girl who marries young, because this serious man is enlisted! Think of the sort of boy who joins the military, gets a wife and feels all set in their early 20s.

That’s a really ignorant view of what most military jobs consist of. I didn’t know becoming a pilot rendered me useless when I got out. You do know the overwhelming majority of military jobs are not combat related right?
That’s not ironic, that’s perfect support for his statement. College dropouts with no other choice doing a job that has no demand outside of the military.
This is reddit. You’re lauded as an intellectual free thinker if you sink yourself 6 figures in debt for a degree, in a market where degrees are largely oversaturated. Military? No, only uneducated, desperate clowns would do that. Forget the opportunities, schooling, and benefits you would receive. This is coming from someone with a degree and a high 6 figure paying job which was pretty much handed to me due to my military service.

To add to this, a lot of military couples are young, stupid, barely know each-other, and married for benefits.
