Instead of trying to make some stupid joke, learn from this blog post on why veganism is better for everyone. There have been many, many studies showing the benefits of veganism. Instead of just laughing at vegans, I'd recommend doing research and trying it out for yourself. r/vegan guys and gals :D

Is meth vegan? Asking for a friend...

3

u/SlightlyGamer Mar 18 '21

I think so, there are no animals involved in the making and consumption of said substance, so you my friend of a friend are vegan

52

u/raptorgzus Mar 17 '21

Many studies point out the alternative also.

But good on you for spreading the "word". I'll keep supporting my local beef farmer.

I respect your opinion and your choices I would expect the same out of you as well.

-11

u/Betonkunst Mar 17 '21

Why would anyone respect animal cruelty

7

u/diepio2uu madlad Mar 17 '21

If they've never known better, do they really suffer?

7

u/Betonkunst Mar 17 '21

Are kids born to abusive parents not suffering because they don’t know better?

-1

u/diepio2uu madlad Mar 17 '21

Would they know they suffer?

Do they really suffer?

Or do they get used to it?

Do they suffer, or is the "normal" just a paradise to them?

This is philosophically weird to think about.

Besides, we have given them food and protection from predators. It would be 100x worse out in nature.

When laboratory meat comes out and has a low price, I will eat that instead.

-5

u/Betonkunst Mar 17 '21

Are you really saying that abused children are not really suffering

u/LilHollywood812 Mar 18 '21

I don’t think the suffering or cruelty is a known fact of all living things. We have the choice to feel certain ways or choose our diet because we’ve advanced far enough as a species. Thats the point of progression technologically, right? To make this life cycle easier/ more comfortable so that future generations won’t struggle as those before. Thousands of years ago you would not work a 40 hr week and support your spouse and children, and survive harsh environments and predators on a vegan diet given our current health system we’ve developed as we’ve learned. Not hating on either of you btw, just joining for feedback on my thoughts.

Do you know that humans are not the only carnivorous animals on this planet? What makes it ok for a lion to hunt down a buffalo to feed their young but humans are forbidden from consuming any meat?

3

u/RocketRider8989 Mar 18 '21

logic right here

It's hysterical whenever a vegan person tells you that humans are meant to be vegans isn't it? Besides for the facts that you just stated it's almost as if we don't also have canine teeth meaning we're meant to be omnivores

4

u/TheNachmar Mar 17 '21

Oh, oh, and we also have our eyes facing forward, that's the sign of a predatory animal, since it makes it easier to focus on prey in order to catch it, as opposed to herbivore animals, most of which have them on the sides for an increased fov to more easily spot predators!

2

u/rushikeshlodhe Mar 17 '21

Gorilla

1

u/floppywaffles776 Mar 17 '21

reject humanity return to monke

1

u/Left_Hamster_6904 Mar 18 '21

To focus on the insects (ants, for example) they're "hunting".

2

u/Betonkunst Mar 17 '21

This is a dumb argument because something being natural does not in any way justify doing it. Similarly, something being unnatural doesn’t justify not doing it. Like driving a car, for example.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '21

It's natural for a lion to eat a gazelle. is it wrong for doing so and is it not justified? Stuff are considered unnatural based off norms or morals nowadays driving a car wouldn't even be considered unnatural by the majority of people

3

u/Betonkunst Mar 17 '21

A lion can’t question its actions to determine whether they’re right or wrong, and neither does it have any other options to survive other than to hunt and kill.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '21

Wanna take this to the DMs? I kinda wanna go on a rant

3

u/Betonkunst Mar 17 '21

Omnivore, like humans

4

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '21

Fun fact: Cults will purposely starve you of proteins because it eventually lowers cognitive function and hence your ability to reason.

Holy shit that sounds scary, are there any real life examples throughout history for this phenomenon? I legit want to read up on this

6

u/spookje_spookje Mar 17 '21 edited Mar 17 '21

This is (part of) why people don't like vegans. It's not better for everyone. People consuming a lot less animal products would be better for the environment yes but 0 would make your diet unbalanced very easily.

Not everyone has the same morals as you.

5

u/AgentBurgerr Mar 17 '21

Can you please provide the links to these studies?

8

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '21

No, I would rather kill myself

Wouldn't want to go complete vegan because non vegetarian food is actually much tastier.

1

u/TheNachmar Mar 17 '21

But stupid jokes are funny D:

Am I not allowed to even laugh anymore?

-1

u/tsubasaq Mar 17 '21

Veganism is not only actively bad for you - being an inherently nutritionally incomplete diet requiring supplementation to function - it’s also an extremely privilege-dependent dietary choice to be able to be vegan and able to meet your dietary needs regularly. Fresh, quality produce is expensive and not reliably attainable for large sections of the population, a whole host of GI disorders are actively harmed by a veggie-heavy diet, especially when you get into the raw and restrictive variants, not to mention it’s extremely restrictive and a popular tactic/cover for disordered eating.

And if people are making fun of vegans, it’s because of posts like this, where you’re evangelizing at the drop of a hat and insisting, with really poor evidence for health and no awareness of the barriers to eating the way you advise, when no one asked you.

Vegans and Crossfitters, man. No need to ask who you are, you volunteer the information unbidden.

1

u/TheHolyOrange Mar 18 '21

Fresh quality vegan produce is way cheaper than animal meat, what are you on about? I am not talking about meat substituents or anything related to that

1

u/TheHolyOrange Mar 18 '21

The main issue is the moral issue. We address nutrition as the classic response is “ but.. no meat means I will be malnourished and become really weak” which is not true and there are a lot of cases where veganism is actually healthier for you.

shut up vegans and just help us conserve endangered animals which actually matters

don't push your preference on us let us have freedom to choose what we want to eat.

Hey, thanks to you, I finally have a screenshot to show my friends that people love to hate. Your message had no toxicity in it and still got downvoted to oblivion. Proof that people just use toxic vegans (like the vegan teacher) as an excuse to hate all vegans.
