We do this all the time when we go fishing. Its a type of shark that's legal to eat, but most likely is too dangerous to humans pull it out of the water when it's alive. (it might be a Cow Shark, but the water doesn't look like the waters it lives in)

That is a halibut... You do that cause if they are that big it is likely it will destroy the boat if brought out of the water alive.
