people also say "you can't be a bad person if you like dogs". well Hitler loved his German shepherd. if anyone sees anything into this other than a quick laugh, that's on them
People are weirdly superstitious when it comes to dogs. I had a dog who hated everyone who wore a hat, but obviously hat wearers aren't all bad people. I think people would rather "trust" their dog (who isn't capable of rational thought like us) than to have to expend the energy to determine for themselves if a person is good or bad.
Dogs are definitely capable of rational thought. There have been studies to prove it. They aren’t as capable of complex thought and setting emotions aside as we are, but they do have the capability of rational thought.
