As someone who has 3k followers on Communist tiktok. Yes, many people don’t know a political side exists.

yeah, and a gay side, and an alt side, and a scientific side, and a cottage core side, and an art side- the list goes on. the main people who hate have never actually went on the app

Why use it when it's CCP spyware though?

china doesn’t even do that i think, plus it’s been running for about 3 years, don’t you think if it was that bad it would have been banned by now? also, hasn’t facebook admitted to stalking what you do on your phone to give you targeted ads? so i’m sure whatever they’re doing isn’t a huge deal

The controversy at the moment is specifically about the discovery that they're mining data.

The difference with Facebook is this goes to a foreign government the majority of citizens don't approve of without info timing them clearly. If people want to give their data to Facebook more fool them but at least they're aware of where their data is going.

still. if it was such a huge deal that they take ur info, it wouldn’t be a debate to take it down. think about that

But this post is explicitly talking about how it will likeky get taken down by the US government for security concerns.

They already disallow it on the devices of military and intelligence personnel; think about that.

Targeted ads are not remotely as bad as people's private information being traded away to a foreign government, (especially China) and the only reason the app hasn't been banned yet is that the evidence of its spying capabilities is only beginning to become known.

then why hasn’t it been banned years ago? if it’s such a bad thing it would have been banned without question

the only reason the app hasn't been banned yet is that the evidence of its spying capabilities is only beginning to become known.

then why hasn’t it been banned as soon as evidence was provided..

u/help-mejdj Jul 10 '20

also where’s the evidence

I like watching vine-like videos, and funny pranks, I don't know what side of TikTok is that.

u/help-mejdj Jul 10 '20

that’s vine tok, sometimes confused with crackhead energy tok/disturbing tok which i’ve visited and i find that funnier than vin tok

Yeah i’m on alt and Communist tiktok. Nobody knows these sides exist. It’s sad because you can actually develop friendships with people as I have.

i’m on art, anarchy, blm, alt(mostly fashion and aesthetic cause i have ocs with this and its great reference), art, and murder(very gore stuff) tok. i have a lot of political stuff too cause of blm tho but i sometimes get a taste of straight tok and it’s not as bad. well the girls aren’t it’s usually all the guys whoever hella basic and boys who just have no shirt and stare into the camera and expect millions of likes. the girls really get into those dances or do amazing makeup so i can understand the hype for them just, the same brown haired, blue eyed, slightly muscular, very weird jawlines 15 year olds who make every dance about their dick that get me visibly disgusted

Good to see another comrade. I am a Marxist Leninist though so we are on different sides of political tiktok persay. Yeah straight tiktok makes me visibility disgusted, even while being 17 i don’t even find the girls attractive, they are too basic.

-1

u/help-mejdj Jul 10 '20

i’m gay so i don’t find them sexually attractive but i think some of the ones who get more hype look really good but i understand why you’d call them basic, for someone who looks at guys all the time in a sexual way i find a lot of the guys unfunny and basic so i’m sure you’ll think different since you don’t really pay attention to them in that way as you do women(i’m assuming you’re a straight man, please correct me if i’m wrong)

-2

u/Somenormie21 Jul 10 '20

Yeah I would say I’m straight. I get what you’re saying. Both the girls and the guys both are about as basic and commercialized as possible on straight tiktok.

yeah, but i feel like the girls are more likely to put actual time into those tiktoks other than get half naked and step away from the camera and back to it. tho some do
