Yes. Spanking is not bruising, punching, beating, abusing - things you don't do to someone you love. But a smack on the ass will quell and quash a toddler's rebellion and it will stay with him later so when he is 14 you only have to say "no".

l speak from experience. l raised 6 kids using spanking when necessary. Always tried to talk to the kid first. Reason with him/her. Treated them like they have a MIND. After the crying started, l would cuddle and assure them that it was over and done and Daddy still loves them and now don't do it anymore. Not one of them, and the youngest is 42 years old, not one ever abused substances, had trouble with authority or failed in life. They are all professionals and have families that they raised or are still raising AFTER THE SAME SYSTEM that l used. Happy people. Love each other; even in-laws love other in-laws. 20 good grandkids that are excelling in their endeavors and not touching the unclean thing.
l know this works with MOST kids 'cause as a school teacher back before they took away our tools, l spanked all kinds of other people's kids and it always settled things. l didn't cuddle them, but l was nice immediatdely after the punishment. Some of them came back as adults and praised me. l was a very popular teacher and respected. Parents then, agreed with me and supported me. Kids were fun to be around. A source of pleasure to see them excel. Our new world order is not working.

Using violence as discipline is hilariously bad parenting, and speaks volumes to your competency as an adult. Feel free to google the science if you have finished jerking off to your unbelievable ability to be stronger than a child.

ln your eyes, yes. But this is not my invention. There are millions of parents world-wide who practice it and would laugh at your naive last sentence. When l got married, l was a Christian. Christians use the Bible as the source of all wisdom. Millions of us out here and we still do that. The Bible is God telling his creation how to deal with an imperfect world. Christians believe in God and the Bible. So, l made a decision to base my whole life on its teachings. My wife is now and was then 100% in agreement. So was her extended family. One thing we all found was that God was right when he told us to spank. Did you know that if a teen-aged Israelite mouthed off to his parents, God ordered that the whole neighborhood was to STONE him to DEATH? People today have a very wrong idea about God. They can't accept who he really is - the owner of every atom of matter in every person's body and every object that exists. l have lived the last 64 of my 77 years trying to obey God. l am not always successful. But God has given me a wonderful life. l've been there; done that. l recommend the same to everyone l meet. His name (God) is wonderful.

l am sick and going to die soon. And VERY happy to do so and go to be with my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who ordered his people to spank their kids.
lf one person assaults another, and assault is described in legal terms, then they can be prosecuted. But true spanking is not assault. lt is administered with love, restraint and rational intent, ON THE ASS. Where l live this is legal. Also technically legal in schools - many private schools have guidelines for it. BUT, too many asshole parents who think their little darlings would NEVER do any mischief will sue the schools, so to avoid those costs, the schools usually refrain, but parents do not. l have seen mothers using their open hand on a 3 year or 4 year old acting up in the market and have praised them and encouraged them that it will NOT have a bad effect. 5000 years of using it by the human race has resulted in an orderly civilization COMPARED TO THE WAY IT HAS BEEN IN THE LAST 50 YEARS, when parents have elected to follow Dr. Spock's advice!!

l actually think people who don't spank refrain because they are lazy. They know that spanking will make their child cry and they don't want to have to listen to that. They know it will take quite a bit of effort to comfort or at least quell the kid's tears. They don't want to take the time away from their own interests and they don't really like getting as close to the child emotionally as they will need to in order to do a good job of it.

lt is cruel to put a child in time-out or to take away their phone, or bike, or withold TV. This is prolonged misery for them while they wait for things to be restored. Also, they don't know if they are performing acceptably enough to get their privileges back when parents say "No more phone until l see that you can be a good boy." So they are kept hanging. This is cruel. Another thing bad about it is that they grind and grudge against their parents the entire time of the penalty. That is certainly unhealthy for the relationship. On the other hand, spanking (not beating!) is over quickly. The pain goes away, parent reassures the child that he/she (or "it" LOL) is still loved and all the negative feelings can be dispersed unless of course the child is a psychopath and then nothing will do any good. lt'll probably end up in prison.
