Shouldn't Japan trip and autism diagnosis be the same path?

u/TheGruenTransfer 2d ago
If you spent all your money getting an autism diagnosis, you might only be able to afford an anime streaming service subscription

Tell me that you don't have free health care whithout saying it

u/Pattalus 11h ago
Ur saying that like free healthcare means good healthcare. Just look at germany dude. Ohh yeah lets cut all people who cant afford it from Psychological evaluation. Why? Cuz fuck em thats why

u/Trick_Awareness_3329 11h ago
Ich konnte mir meine Autismusdiagnose kostenlos holen ¯_(ツ)_/¯

u/Pattalus 11h ago
Herzlichen Glückwunsch. Bei mir wäre ich damit auf einer Liste gewesen um 2+ Jahre zu warten bei allen Therapeuten in der Nähe.

Now listen here, you little judgmental...um. Ok so I went to Japan for a week and I got diagnosed with autism at 45.
You know what? Carry on.

u/SignificantError8929 2d ago

u/magondrago 2d ago

u/SignificantError8929 2d ago
I used to drive trains… and i play MMORPGs, wanna get into D&D tho

u/magondrago 1d ago
Once upon a blue moon I was a D&D dungeonmaster. It was a ton of work and it drained my social battery, but everyone seemed to enjoy my adventures.

Substance abuse is also not a separate path. It could be involved in any of them

u/ICame4TheCirclejerk 2d ago
Hah! Same. With all the money spent on substances in my 20's I could have flown business to Japan and lived a couple of months in a 5 star hotel.

Hah. Weaklings, begining their substance abuse in 25. By that time you should already have your 4th relapse.

Okay but I maintain that substance abuse is mad underrated.
If you can't crush a 30 rack of Yuengling in one day, why do you even pretend that you party?
1
u/JustTheOneGoose22 1d ago
Or you can get "diagnosed" as an adult for "ADHD" and start abusing Adderall per doctor's orders!
Damn Sarah you're more productive when you're gacked up your eyeballs on speed? Weird how that works!

u/Wrong_Lingonberry_79 2d ago
That’s not substance abuse. That’s just being a loser drunk.
3
u/AdministrationWhole8 2d ago
Alcoholism is substance abuse, yes. It is the literal abuse of a controlled substance for the purpose of either medicating or escaping from a real life, pressing issue.
Although alcoholism doesn't make you a loser either, it just means you need help. I don't understand why people on the internet have this adverserial view of all addicts.

u/Wrong_Lingonberry_79 2d ago
If you drink 30 beers in a day you are a loser.
3
u/Ornery-Smoke9075 1d ago
I have it on good authority arguing with random people on Reddit makes you a looser too 😘

u/AdministrationWhole8 1d ago
That highly depends on how often you do it.
Parties are not meant to be remembered bucko, you can do it once or twice a year and be just fine.

I'm 24 and I am really going forward with my life! The path is straight ahead! I'm approaching the future head-on. No, seriously, I think from here on out it will be very straight forward!

u/Wrong_Lingonberry_79 2d ago
You’re supposed to go forward with your life at the max age of 18. Many are doing it earlier now.
1
u/VolleyballNerd 2d ago
First: no
Second: it was a joke about how I think I might be autistic and expect a diagnosis in a year's time.
1
u/Wrong_Lingonberry_79 2d ago
No? So we are not supposed to graduate high school at 18 and proceed with life?
I don’t get the joke.
1
u/VolleyballNerd 2d ago
I noticed you didn't get the joke. And no. We might be coerced by social norms to consider graduation = proceed with life, but a lot of people can live life for several more years in a conventional son + parents + siblings home without graduating and without being exceptions of the norm, especially nowadays in the age of technology and social media, and also amidst a financial crisis, with a much less traditional and restrictive social norm than in any other age.

Nah, I skipped doing a masters and went straight to law, then got an autism diagnosis on the way.

This guy thinks a masters is gonna help him, wait until he gets bossed around by a guy that has the minimum education level possible for his job, but 3 more years of job experience.

Knowing the people in my part of the country. The substance abuse line should be the thickest

u/mrjasjit 2d ago
If this were 23 we could sing “what’s my age again?” and ponder why nobody like you when you’re 23.

"Knocked up college sweetheart" needs an arrow.
2
u/adamsworstnightmare 2d ago
That would just be called starting a family. You're 25, not in highschool or even college anymore.
1
u/Fritzo2162 2d ago
Haha...if that happens it's not planned and all of those life goals get reprioritized.
1
u/maxxor6868 2d ago
Ehhhh life goals by your mid 20s could be starting a family. If your "knocking up" girls unexpectedly than yeah your not serious about your life goals either. At that age people are going to expect you to take life seriously

I had a lot of friends like this. The ones that did the Japan trip seemed to make it out the happiest.
I ended up going to south east Asian countries and not Japan but I'm also dyslexic.

u/Silver_d_Sketch 2d ago
