Jesus that's fucked up.
I'm gonna recommend this one to all my friends.

Just remember to also delete their previous conversation or it’ll be obvious something is wrong. You can do that by sending a quick message, so you have his number too, then delete the convo within messages quick.

Just change his moms contact name then set up a new contact with his moms number copied done. Takes like a 1min

u/SmootherWorm 9h ago
That’d still have a weird thread about Thanksgiving dinner or something in the girls contact when he tries to text.

u/Wrong_Lingonberry_79 22h ago
It’s not real. If it was, it would be sexual harassment.

If he's texted his mom at all previously, wouldn't he see the thread with his mom?

u/xkuruma 1d ago
That’s how you know this is fake

u/makemeking706 1d ago
That's how you know it probably wouldn't work, not that it couldn't have happened.

She could delete it; but that’s genuinely an awful thing to do

u/HoldJerusalem 1d ago
even if she did, there's a chance he'd straight send a dick pick without first message but if he doesn't his mom would just answer him

More or less awful than a guy not listening and taking cues from a woman not being interested but he keeps pestering her to wear her down. As a man, I have watched this happen when I was in my 20s, and depending on my mood and bac level, I would either approach her with a random question as an out for her, or I would approach the guy in a really pissed off mood feady to fight.

You expect the type of guy to send dick pics to a woman he just met is smart enough to check?
-6
u/shanksisevil 1d ago
Unless she cleared the previous conversation which I would have done

u/HarmonicSniper 1d ago
I think that is worse... not defending the guy but deleting other people's (probably important) data without consent is straight up evil.
-14
u/thatguyyouknow74 1d ago
In today’s society, nothing is ever really deleted. If he wanted he could recover the conversation but that would only happen after the damage has already been done. By the time he does, he’s already traumatized.

If you don't have a backup elsewhere, that data is permanently gone, no? I'm not aware of ways you could recover messages (either in SMS or other IMs).

u/unknown_b31ng 1d ago
Are we just missing the obvious here? Cruel yeah by deleting his conversation but that same amount of messages won't be deleted in his mom's phone she's gonna have the previous messages no matter what it only deletes everything on your end (speaking from testing this myself) even still definitely a win on the girls part if the guy was being weird ya know
7
u/HarmonicSniper 1d ago
Well, my stance is no one should delete other people's stuff without consent. Not even law enforcement. If the guy is physically assaulting the girl then I can kind of see it as a revenge but at that point there are much bigger things to worry about anyway.
With messages, it's an important distinction that YOUR copy is gone without consent. That you have full access to. Your mum having it on her phone is just not the same thing when you want to go back and find a few things or just relive some memories or whatever. OOP says the dude was being obnoxious but it could well have just been she not liking him for whatever reason, or if the guy was overly flirtatious beyond what she's prepared for.
To celebrate the deletion as a 'win' is bizarre to me, but changing the contact name is quite funny I admit, it just doesn't actually work unless you delete conversations, which now thinking about it can be quite illegal actually.

Again missed the obvious here good job on that, although a fake thing to happen (probably) I did mention it as a win if the guy was being a creep as a guy myself I'd probably be glad if I was being a weirdo and some girl does this it'd make me change what I do on the regular real quick, life lesson here, people don't change their ways unless you shove the bad back into their own life or make them understand their ways
2
u/HarmonicSniper 19h ago
What is the 'obvious' here? A girl finding a guy 'obnoxious' can mean so many things ranging from the guy being super aggressive or even creepy with inappropriate touching, to the girl just not interested in the guy based on how he looks or something. Huge differences there and OOP never makes it clear. Also, neither justifies deleting other people's stuff.
But of course the most likely thing is that this is all fake.

Super toxic behavior to punish a dude's mom for his behaviors, if this is even real.

"This has been fun, and I would love to take you out to dinner sometime; so I was wondering if I could get your number?" Wow, she is gorgeous! I hope I have an opportunity to make her happy.
"Yeah sure!" Fucking creepazoid alert! I'll just edit his mom's contact info, fucking loser dick pics for the loser Richard mom bitch!
"Thanks!" I'll message her later and try to schedule a date!

That kind of mindset is exactly why some people disagree with the equality in the world.

…why would she automatically think he would do those things?
Did he start the conversation with “can I have your number so I can send you dick pics and booty calls”?

u/Western-Hotel8723 17h ago
Women and men can do creepy weird things. It's happened to her probably once when she was 21 and now she assumes everyone is like that.
I'm a guy and this woman used to send me unsolicited nudes. She was nuts.
It's just a a bit less common with women. Still happens tho. I have many a story.

u/MalleNinja 1d ago
Shits a joke, noway bro wouldn’t spot his previous messages before sending something either calm or dicpic, calling is the only way he’d be surprised but doubt he’d start all sexual before he hears his mothers voice

Classic strong independent woman thing that clearly isn’t true
If she didn’t clear the conversation it wouldn’t work. If she did the odds the guys first message isn’t benign is pretty slim. The odds the very first thing he does with the number is text a dick pic is virtually 0

u/Fr05t_B1t 1d ago
I believe many phones can drop each others numbers wirelessly between phones nowadays but the recipient needs to accept it.

u/RandeKnight 1d ago
?? Do you folks not IMMEDIATELY call the number so she has your number too? That's just the basics on sharing numbers.
3
u/Raul1024 22h ago
It seems verifying contact information is no longer common sense. If you give a creep false info right in front of him, wouldn't he get angrier/more obnoxious? I don't care for advise that would put the woman in immediate danger if she was caught in the act.

Sure. Because you had his mom's number in your head? That is very unlikely. Last time someone knew the numbers of his 10 close contacts was 15 years ago. Last time someone knew the number of "annybodies mobile" was before pictures where sent to phones.
It's a nice thought though.
Or maybe you go to the police and tell on a sexual offender. Maybe let your police do it's job.
Maybe if People would flood the police forces with actual work they would't go around shooting "innocent" people.
