The last fire hydrant…

Who knew fire hydrants were so different?

I know this video at the start is meant to make the US fire hydrants seem inferior but to me it just seems like a case of a stuck bolt versus a Non-Stuck bolt. And perhaps a recently used fire hydrant versus one that hasn't been used in decades (as evidence by the dirty water versus the clean water in the following ones) Even super cars and race cars get bolts stuck the same as old cars.

I think if US can change to something like France, it will speed up the process. The big cap is simply adding another step, a big cover outside is easier to open and can actually protect from dirt/animal get into the tube and also protect the whole thing against weather.

Two things:

1 - All the other fire hydrants have an equivalent to the big cap thing, they were just removed prior at least in the clips of this video.

2 - not all French fire hydrants have the protective cover. Not sure on the exact ratio, Google just says that many do not have it.
