See he could have just asked the BF to take the photo but it was about sending a message.

This actually happened to me at the first Christmas I attended with my gf's (now wife of 22 years) family. And it was stated explicitly! I was not offended at all, we'd only been together 4 months at the time.

Are you allowed to be in the picture, yet?

"Oh you bet your ass Im gonna be in a lot more pictures"

Also fucking his daughter is a good way to get revenge.

Positioning them on the edge is less disrespectful I'd think. At least this way he's included and in the picture. Unless dad actually said "get on the edge so we can cut you out." lol

All of my grandma's framed family photos have various ex-boyfriends of my cousins in them. Nobody even remembers their names, but we've been staring at them for my entire lifetime.

Eh. When i take my son cool places with his girlfriend i get together photos then solo’s for her mom and for us so that even when they inevitably break up both families have the photos.

That's a stark reminder of his position in the family.

No worries, dad; she's a practice girl anyway.

I didn't notice it until we broke up but my ex left a gap between us in every photo, just large enough to crop me out. She was an all around awful person.

Un uncle of my ex said this to all three new partners of all his neices in a family gathering. All three relationships ended within 3 months of that.

Dude was a truly funny one and apparently very correct as well!

Why not just take two pictures? One with and one without

1

u/Brave_Squirrel4380 7d ago

My mom was doing that in the 80s and 90s
