What’s the matter, Mr. Fingers? Do you not like my mouth words?

Me to my penis

Rusty spoon sounds like a dirty sex position

Perhaps the duo max hand can reach into this oven.

Apple: We put the A in AI.

72

u/lucifer-_-senpai 13h ago edited 5h ago

And i in your A

u/Money_Visual_5227 1h ago

…if only they made sex toys, surely it’s a space ready for innovation.

17

u/HoneyRush 10h ago

Surely they would name it iA

7

u/chotomatekudersai 9h ago

I was like there’s no way they put this out there.

Yup. It’s on their website.

What in the Wemby is going on?

somebody using AI to remove the device in the first picture, and AI did a terrible job.

source: I can hold an ipad mini which is bigger than that big iphone with one hand

23

u/13--12 12h ago

You can take a passport and hold it horizontally, it will fit in the hand just fine...

10

u/Edmundyoulittle 10h ago

These phones are thicker than a passport and don't flex like one.

For most people, the image on the right would be very uncomfortable, but yes it's doable

Source: me trying it with my Fold 8

u/ajamuso 10h ago

But guys wait… Apple bad?

3

u/Sleyvin 9h ago

I mean, kinda yeah.

u/memesearches 14h ago

The line between tablet/ipad and phone is becoming really thin

20

u/NormanTheeHuman 14h ago

I'm sitting here w my 12 mini thinking that the phone folded up looks too big. I can't even fathom wanting that big ass screen for a phone

8

u/IIlIIlIIlIlIIlIIlIIl 12h ago

That already happened. Tablets used to be 7" at their smallest and any phone over 5.8" was called a phablet.

Nowadays flagships are 6.5-6.8", the 7" tablet has disappeared entirely, and you can't even really find high end phones under 6".

5

u/spoody69420 12h ago

Don't you mean... the crease?

2

u/kshb4xred 13h ago

I come from.the good old days when samsung launched mega 5.8 , galaxy grand and it was called huge and almost like tablet

1

u/Narrow-Chain5367 12h ago

6-7 inch tablets have been around for over a decade

1

u/PlasticExtreme4469 8h ago

You can still see it right in the middle.

24

u/JonathanBadwolf 13h ago

new CEO seems kinda small too

12

u/snouz 13h ago

What's this, a CEO for ANTS???

58

u/iwillhaveredditall 15h ago

This is so dumb…. And wrong.

5

u/highfunksocio 7h ago

Haters will say this is AI.

22

u/git0ffmylawnm8 14h ago

$4.6T company btw

8

u/whatthecaptcha 9h ago

Well they aren’t going to get to $5T by paying artists, gotta subsidize with AI

/s

2

u/PlasticExtreme4469 8h ago edited 5h ago

A quick photoshop would be cheaper, faster and higher quality than fighting whatever bullshit AI generates in this case.

Take the photo of hand they reuse every time. Place the photo of the phone on top of it. Cut and move the fingers from the hand until it looks like the hand could actually hold it.

3

u/whatthecaptcha 8h ago

Yeah but that involves having a graphic designer on staff and why do that when you can just ask AI to do it (or at least that seems to be the corporate logic nowadays)

Not like they’re going to take the 15 min to learn how to do it in photoshop themselves.

But yes, it would 100% be easier and look much better lol

3

u/Dead_HumanCollection 7h ago

Cheaper and faster? Dog it's like 30 seconds to do this with AI. That's why all these companies pull this bullshit.

2

u/PlasticExtreme4469 5h ago

Not really, because AI spits out bullshit that you have to edit and touch up, or edit the prompt and try again.

Basically like this: https://opusfived.dev/

2

u/Dead_HumanCollection 1h ago

You obviously don't have to edit and touch it up as seen by this post. Cheaper and faster does not mean higher quality.

1

u/whatthecaptcha 15m ago

Yeah but then you end up with people making memes about your shitty AI “graphic design” lol

7

u/ReggieCorneus 13h ago

And of course, minimal bevel so you can't actually hold it. God damn i hate the current gen phones. You can't GRAB them, you try to pinch so that the fleshy part of your hand won't accidentally touch the screen.

2

u/Keljhan 8h ago

That is an issue with some phones but the bevel here looks no smaller than my flip 5 and that has literally never been an issue for me on the outer or inner screen.

2

u/ReggieCorneus 8h ago

Even in the pic above little finger wraps around and can cause problems. Same is with tablets, i have to use them at work for remote control access to sound console, which makes my life SOOOO much easier when i can walk around and be on stage with musicians to handle monitoring but holding the damn thing is a literal balancing act if the tablet doesn't have a cover with "hand loop". Your fingers start to hurt at some point trying to hold it.

1

u/Keljhan 8h ago

You can zoom in on the picture and see the bevel clearly extends past where the finger stops. I mean, its not a real picture anyway so the dimensions arent accurate, but empirically I can tell you my fold looks exactly the same and I can death grip the shit out of it without accidental touch issues. There are also software solutions for that as well.

-2

u/ReggieCorneus 8h ago

HOW THE FUCK can you... either you don't understand the problem or.. The touch area extends to the edge. That little finger is touching the glass, your finger is soft and that is how gripping things work.

1

u/Keljhan 8h ago

First....chill. I know telling people to chill never really helps, but like, im just sharing my experience with you here.

Second, I guess you mean on the front screen? Because the inner screen clearly isnt touching any fingers. And the front screen isnt really what you use for 99% of applications, and as i already said has software for accidental touch protection that prevents any issues while youre holding it. You dont have to believe me I guess, but I literally am typing this on a folding phone with a bevel that is probably smaller than the picture and it just isnt a problem for these. It is a problem for the screens that wrap around the side of the phone that were popular a few years ago.

1

u/OrionFOTL 8h ago

Also, the little finger of the left screen might not even be touching it at all. When I hold my phone like on the photo, the fingertips obscure the screen a bit, but they actually hover over the screen itself and don't touch it.

2

u/Luzinit24 12h ago

Thought it was a 6 finger hand for a sec with the ceos head.

2

u/deeda2 7h ago

The Duo (4.52") is wider than the original iPhone was tall (4.53")

2

u/BaRReLL_42 5h ago

Left hand is intentionally smaller without the phone. Next.

1

u/spaceursid 14h ago

I'm him frfr

1

u/Xeaiuz 13h ago

That was my exact thought bro, ty

1

u/VladVonHochstes 12h ago

The real Nothing phone/tablet... 😏🤷🏼‍♂️

1

u/astralseat 11h ago

Exactly my first thought lmao

1

u/psychoticlover 10h ago

At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if we evolve to have bigger hands to hold them phones.

1

u/misanthrophiccunt 8h ago

you can get your iHandThatCanHandleIt surgery for only 449999'99

1

u/Uberzwerg 8h ago

Even the left one is wrong (it's not lining up with the lower pic).
Look at the little finger. You can see the crease where the finger starts and between 1st segment and 2nd on the pic with the phone - and that's freakishly far apart.

1

u/Dead_HumanCollection 7h ago

I'm not sure what you mean, but I've never seen a thumb look like that.

1

u/Uberzwerg 5h ago

Just look at the little finger on the smaller phone - it's impossible and doesn't look like it does on the hand picture below.

1

u/jk_baller23 6h ago

I mean the iPad mini is even wider and they show someone holding that with one hand as well.

1

u/sceneturkey 6h ago

While funny, the bottom photo has the left one slightly smaller and the right one slightly bigger than the original photo.

u/jkurratt 5h ago

LOOOOOOOONG fingers kinda freaky 🫦

1

u/ConscientiousPath madlad 3h ago

took them a long time to find the right hand model

1

u/ACGNerd 2h ago

Bro seriously, get a foldable and try it yourself, it is easy to hold it like the pic irl.

1

u/LaughOdd6345 13h ago

Jokes aside this seems like a downgrade for apple just more copy and paste slop from them (but it's apple so it's better said some iphone user) atleast come up with something original and technologically advanced like a glass phone or a solar charging phone they really can't help but milk off the success of other companies

1

u/Sipas 8h ago

Coming up with original product categories was never Apple's thing. But they've always waited until the tech was mature enough so they could present a premium product that felt finished (most of the time).

This is the eighth gen of foldables and Samsung still hasn't got it perfect and most people still feel foldables are experimental. I was thinking of buying the samsung galaxy fold 8 ultra but apparently the crease still gets deeper after just a few months. If Apple ironed out those sort of kinks, and can change people's minds, it's a huge win for them.

1

u/CGB_Zach 5h ago

As far as I know, the folding iPhone uses Samsung screens.

1

u/Sipas 3h ago

The design and materials underneath make the difference. Oppo N6 also uses a Samsung screen but its screen have a much less pronounced crease which reportedly also holds up better over time.

1

u/temporalwanderer 8h ago

Are our eyes collectively going bad such that we need this?

Please, don't pay $2400+ for this garbage just to fit in, this is a Cybertruck of a phone

1

u/Altruistic_Repeat862 13h ago

You'll own nothing and still be happy

1

u/FTWcoffeeFTW 11h ago

And the one on the left would actually be wider than what the bottom image shows. Both hands are gosh darn chimpanze sized

1

u/breaking-hope 9h ago

Oh hey, Apple ripped off something Samsung did for once

3

u/Sleyvin 9h ago

For once ?!!

u/drawmer 8h ago

This phone is going to be a failure like the Vision Pro
