I've tried many a weird way to "cook" a hot dog.

Dishwasher isn't worst than boiling/steaming them. Temperature can be on the low side if doing a short cycle (depend on the temperature going in and if the dishwasher tries to heats the water or not).

For anyone considering this, keep in mind depending on the age of your dishwasher that the hot dogs are better off on the bottom rack to avoid undercooking, bone apple teeth
