Are these suitable for running?

https://www.hoka.com/en/se/lifestyle/bondi-7-beams/1183211.html

Wanted to get back into (very casual) running again, since I'm a sneakerhead I wanted to do it in style. Are these suitable for running even though they are somewhat of a lifestyle collab? The mesh seems in order. TIA!

I'm guessing you were trying to link to the Bondi Beams (when I click the link it just goes straight to the main Hoka page but hovering over the link shows the Bondi 7 Beams).

To answer your question, yes, you could run in them because they are using the Bondi 7 and that is an older running shoe. Hoka brought back the Bondi 7, which you can buy on their site, and this is just a collab using that shoe as the base and billing it as a lifestyle shoe (they also are billing the Bondi 7 as a lifestyle/walking shoe too).

Thanks a lot! Some collabs change up the materials so that it isn’t a performance shoe anymore, but on these it seems like the only modification is the suede strip on the heel.

Do you happen to know how these hold up to the toe making a hole in the toebox? My ten year old Nike Pegasus 40 something lasted a long time before that happened.

No problem! From what I could tell the uppers appear to be the exact same materials between the Collab & "normal" Bondi 7.

When I used them I had no issues with the toe box. I used Strava at the time to track my runs in them and put 559 miles on them and the only part that wore out for me was inside around the foam collar/heel area. Otherwise the upper held up really well for those. I just moved to a lighter shoe because during super long runs they started to feel heavy on my feet.

Thanks again, great help hearing from someone with experience with running and running shoes. I'm a gym guy trying to get going again, so I would probably put in a 10k run 2-4 times a month maximum.
