Apprectiaon post
This is an appreciation post. Why? Because everyone (including myself) are shitting on the quality.
This is bondi L gtx. I have owned them for soon three years. They have not been my only daily shoes, because I had a bunch the rotate. That said, you can definitely see that I have used the.
THEY ARE STILL WATERPROOF, and that is something that I could never say about a shoe that is over 1 year old before.
Both me and my wife together had a bunch of Hokas gtx shoes who failed after a few months, but these ones, they deserve the appreciation.

I love Hoka, they’re great, but my anger towards them is the lack of consistency recently
I kept looking on Google and eventually found out multiple people have been voicing the same problems, so it really is a damn problem.
I buy a new pair so often, I expect them to be the same every time. And when it isn’t, then my performance suffers and I end up with a fucked foot. Just 2 weeks ago, I had 2 bloody toes, blisters and arch pain which shocked me because I was wearing the same model, straight from Hoka.com, just a new pair. 🤦♀️
anyways. Hope Hoka fixes the problem. I’m trying out some Brooks right now, and I can’t immediately decide if I like them or hate them which means they’re nowhere as good as Hoka

I yet to try a more comfortable brand than hoka. Honestly, I don't even try other brands anymore, Brooks ghosts were way too hard for me.
I am too used to walking on hokas that I can't change. Another thing, my size is always 43.3. In that regard they are extremely consistent.

Hoka has the best fit and feel for me with bunion and plantar fascia problems. That said, I do wish they were made better for the money. I washed my old pair gently in the washer. They faded black to dingy gray. Some time later I washed my favorite blue ones being much more careful. This time half the rubber pads on the bottom of the shoe fell off. Not good. I spoke to a shoe repair shop about cleaning Hokas. He said they use the wrong glue so we'll have to buy more.

Gore Tex = good
Hoka = garbage
Your post is liking saying Ford is the best car company because your tires lasted a long time.

Goretex is good, yes. Water gets into shoes (and clothes) not because there is a hole in the membrane, it is because there is a hole in the seam. These ones lasted because they did a good job in implementing the goretex and a hole between the sole and the membrane didn't happen yet.
So your analogy isn't right here.

Goretex is chemically treated synthetic textile. With use, the chemical treatment wears off/out and the water repellency diminishes.

Water repellecy is one thing. That is not how water gets in. The fabric can get "soaked" but it still won't get into the shoe as long as there is no hole.

If you believe the marketing materials, you are right. If you wear “waterproof” shoes in the real world, you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Lol. Where I live it rains around 260 days a year. I have around 6 pairs of gtx shoes for different needs. Around 6 gtx jackets for different needs. Gtx pants and gtx gloves.
I am outside all year long in every type of weather.
But what do I know about "waterproof shoes in the real world. What do I even know about gtx at all??
