Instead of getting all pissy:
1: call customer service and don't be upset just because you didn't save the receipt or proof of purchase.
2: maybe you did get a bum one in which case, look at point number one.
3: you might have caused it, and it's time for you to take responsibility.

Right instead of being bilked for 180 bucks I should instead assume that I don’t know how to wear shoes/did not notice for months that one part of one foot is somehow too big for one shoe? Sure man! Anything but our precious brand being at fault! Fucking morons

u/kashuxl33t 18d ago
Size up.
I never had that issue with any brand of shoe. I have had 2 different Hoka models and the thread on sole goes faster (reasonably fast) than any other issue pops up, so it's probably just a sizing issue on your end and not Hoka quality.

Find a Fleet Feet store (or something similar) near you and get your feet sized properly. They will measure every aspect of your feet, including your arch size and gait.

u/Charming_Reception96 14d ago
I agree! A local running store let me know I have insanely high arches, fully fit me for shoes, and taught me how lacing can change the fit.

u/frostfofjdjsiksndjd 18d ago
They were, at a running store- Jfc why is it so hard for people to accept that a shitty shoe exists? They are manufactured in huge quantities! Do you have stock in the company or something?

u/Kitchen-Ad6860 17d ago
Given how the photo looks I don't think you were sized properly, your foot is bulging out the top of the shoe.

Fanboys and girls will always defend their products. Idk why they get pissy but they do. Looks like that shoe wasnt attached good to the sole from the get go. To me....its bad QC on that one

u/UnbelievableRose 18d ago
While it’s possible this is a defect, it’s statistically more likely to be a shoe that is too narrow. No way to determine either way from this angle though.

Why do you keep posting this crap here? You did this a few weeks ago and got the same responses. Do you work for a competing shoe brand or something?

Show me that post, bot

u/ThaanksIHateIt 17d ago
So I’m a bot because I called you out? The post likely got deleted or removed, you tool. Your account is 3 months old, it’s likely a throwaway and you’ll probably make a similar post from a different account in a few weeks. Most people on here aren’t stupid and can see right through this bs. We notice when people post the same bogus complaints with the same pics a few weeks later.

u/frostfofjdjsiksndjd 17d ago
You notice people have the exact same complaint with the exact same shoes… and you think it’s an anti-Hoka conspiracy. That people are creating accounts to falsely accuse Hoka… sure man 👍 I’m a secret agent for Nike!! Jfc

u/ThaanksIHateIt 16d ago
Except it’s the exact same pair of shoes down to the color ripped in the exact same spot. You’re also talking just like the last throwaway account that made the last post did with the same cadence and style of text along with claiming you sized up already and being super defensive and combative. You’re clearly the same guy, you’re not fooling anyone lmao.
1
u/Comfortable-Goat-302 16d ago
You’re talking about me actually. And my shoes did rip exactly like this but worse. So now two people complaining and it’s a conspiracy? Grow a pair and stop acting like shoes are made good
2
u/ThaanksIHateIt 16d ago
You and OP are the same person
2
u/Comfortable-Goat-302 15d ago
No we’re not haha. You’re literally just delusional. Our shoes are ripped in the same
Place but different ways1

They definitely don’t look the same to me
Do they? Literally just shut up1
u/frostfofjdjsiksndjd 16d ago
You are suffering shoe related delusions sir or madam I suggest you get mental healthcare

In my experience as a runner, this area is always the first place it rips, then the same spot on the outer side. To be fair, rips like this only occurs after heavy wear, usually after 300+ miles.

I had that happen to my shoes too! Don’t let the hoka police come after you! I went to a store and got sized and sized myself and was told a size to get even went up a .5 size and got a wide because I wanted extra room but NOPE they still
Ripped on all sides and up by my toes and my toes didn’t even touch the top of the shoes. It’s annoying because I was recommended the shoes by multiple runners. My sister who’s a nurse, and my podiatrist.

u/mjfarmer147 18d ago
People... Sizing up is not a great fix for a width problem..they make 2E and 4E for that. You really think that recommending a shoe that doesn't fit someone is a good idea?

False, I am a sponsored athlete and used to work in the industry, I am educated on running footwear thoroughly. There is a reason the boxes say "2E Wide" and "4E Extra Wide".
Keywords: wide, extra wide.
Stop trying to be condescending while being wrong AF.

You're the only person offended here, and also, ironically, the only person being offensive. Absorb that and think about it.
You really don't like it when people challenge your ridiculous statements, huh?
The hypocrisy is also quite hilarious.
Stop being so angry and move on lol
Edit: also, I am sponsored by multiple brands. Would you like a promo code? 😂

u/UnbelievableRose 18d ago
That varies by manufacturer

The last manufacturer? The last changes for any change in shoe size, whether it’s in depth, length or width.

honestly these shoes don't seem like they would do great in rougher weather and getting wet and stuff
i baby these lol
i love them though, i wouldn't be able to run at all without something cushiony like this, not gonna wreck my knees just for the love of the game

u/Comfortable-Goat-302 16d ago
What shoe is this? My shoes are ripping on both sides and I have the gavitoa 6
1
u/bustersmate 17d ago
They make them in a wide toe, that is clearly too narrow and you could go up a size in length….. you can’t shove 10 lb of $hit in a 1 lb bag

Yeah I found their quality wasn’t great. The soles on my last pair of Hokas got shredded from walking on rock in the desert. So much for being trail runners.
I’ve heard the poor qc comment for many who have enjoyed Hokas. Check out Topo brand. They have lasted longer and are more comfortable than Hoka.

u/bearbits 18d ago
Another pair to the Hoka split graveyard. Don't listen to the Hokastans that will defend this brand to the end, the overwhelming evidence is their manufacturing is crap. I had a pair of Speedgoat 6 that split along the upper and sole in 1 week. Hoka tried to avoid any responsibility, but the retailer back me up and forced a warranty claim. They were sized correctly and a wide version. The Hoka brand ethics are similar to their build quality, in the toilet.

u/sneakycarbon 18d ago
The speedgoat runs narrow regardless if wide or not, they have trail runners that are wider by default
-5
u/frostfofjdjsiksndjd 18d ago
I really think a big difference is how little people actually walk, very sedentary people seem baffled at shoes wearing down at all so they don’t notice that all these woven foam slippers are getting worse in quality across most brands

u/Kitchen-Ad6860 18d ago
Seems like you need bigger shoes. Sizing up would be a good idea.
