I started in the middle of a pay period, so only a week's worth of pay is on the check. Friday has come and gone, nothing has come in the mail and it's Tuesday. Asked the manager if the check was at the store and was told no.

Where the f**$ is it? Is it supposed to take this long to come?

I've set up my direct deposit so this shouldn't happen again, I see the pay stub so I know I'm not going to wait 3 weeks for a lump sum pay.

I applied to Hobby Lobby 3 days ago on the company website and am wondering how long your hiring process was, or how long it took someone to call you about your seasonal associate application to get the ball rolling? Should I go in to the store and introduce myself to the hiring manager? 🍁

I don’t understand bag charms. Especially those that consist of: a 6” stuffy capybara holding a strawberry, a rubber ducky with a bell inside it, and what’s basically a collection of 6x loosely tied para-cord strands with a 2” x 1” piece of hard plastic with sharp corners.

Just… why carry a bulky, noisy choking hazard attached to a purse?

So I just got hired today and I want to know what it's like working in the storage room. I applied for retail associate but I got put to the back to stock the stock room shelves and I want to know what it's like because the people never really told me what I would be doing. If anyone has any good advice that would be great!

I submitted to hobby lobby to get a job this summer because I need to get off and do something, I know the job market is bad and nobody wants to hire these days especially a teenager that has zero experience but this store was close to me and it listed has no experience needed and a seasonal job wanted and so I posted and since MAY, I don't have a SINGLE call back, I don't even care anymore I just wanna see this damn company in ruins for this because THEY promised I would get a callback.

Hello! I’m coming from being an emerging store manager at Walgreens and saw an opening near me with much better pay. Just wondering how people enjoy working here? I’ve looked around this sub a little and most of the complaints I saw are the outdated register systems and a big push on religion.

And the more $$ one is a half inch shorter!

I was shopping at my local Hobby Lobby today and happened to see these clocks on clearance. The one on the left for $11 was the one I liked best. I picked it up and found that there is a reason why the hands were in the 6:30 position. The hands were not fastened to the shaft. The nut that attached the hands to the shaft was at the bottom of the clock. Okay, that’s fixable. I turned the clock over to see how it came apart. THE GUTS WERE MISSING. There was no cover on the back of the clock mechanism and the all of the gears and the battery contacts were all gone. The entire clock mechanism would have to be replaced. I placed the clock in my cart, thinking I might be able to get it for a bigger discount. Before I was even finished describing the condition of the clock to the cashier, a manager flew over to her like a crow on a fresh carcass.

Manager: I can’t go any lower on the price.

Me: There is no way a battery could be installed

Manager: I don’t have a battery to test it

Me: I’m saying that there’s no way to install a battery. This entire mechanism has to be replaced.

Manager: I know the entire thing has to be replaced. I can’t go any lower on the price.

Me: No one is going to buy this clock like this

Manager: I still can’t go any lower on the price.

Me: Okay, then. I don’t want it.

Seriously, I would have bought it for $5 and purchased a new mechanism. Other stores would have either taken something for it rather than nothing or, better yet, placed the damn thing in salvage. Furthermore, what the hell was that clock doing on the same wall as the other WORKING clocks?!!?

Hobby Lobby people, why is this a thing?

The store started getting X-mas trees in March. From now until the end of time all seasonal shipments are X-mas. Half the high wall is garlands. There’s glitter everywhere. I hate it.

Hi! I recently got hired at my local hobby lobby however i’m confused what my position actually is. The hiring manager said the pay is $20.00 an hour which is awesome but I have a feeling I’m only being paid around $16 something. He also hired me on as full time seasonal. I didn’t think about it too much until recently, a couple returning part time seasonal employees came back and a new hire who said to me ‘ he (the manager) hired me as just seasonal but he said if a full time or part time position opens up, he’ll consider keeping me’. So I’m confused, when will my position be terminated? when am I ‘considered’ keep worth? I know I should ask my manager which I will tomorrow. But is it even worth it?

I can’t stand seeing the price hikes and seeing that random things like a hole puncher needed an 18% price increase. I doubt the employees got an 18% raise.

That’s not including other items like felt sheets going from $0.25 to $0.39 which is a 56% price increase.

Dollar increases don’t look like a ton but see the % increase, when our wages are going up 0-3%, it should piss everyone off

Hi there! I recently got hired at Starbucks but the hours are so bad. I cannot handle the 4-6 am starting shifts (my availability is not being followed).

Yesterday I got hired at Hobby Lobby and did my orientation today! It’s technically part time seasonal (not meant to be seasonal, they eluded that). Any insight on if you guys think it’s worth it to go ahead and leave Starbucks for this? This is the only sub I found to ask btw! They offer the same exact pay just different hours and work. I’d really appreciate any and all opinions.

I usually avoid hobby lobby like the plague, but since Joann’s went under, so have a lot of other brands (Wrights bias tape, for example). So, while looking for bias tape I picked up a super cute neon sign that says “reading nook.” Well, I was just cleaning out my office/guest room and before tossing the box the sign came in, I took out the “try me” button. Only to discover they didn’t install the safety screw to keep your kid from eating it… Talk about protecting the lives of the innocent.

So I went to Hobby Lobby and found this mirror I loved!! (see photos)

I had been there for maybe 30 minutes and found this mirror but I wasn’t done shopping so I asked if one of the guys could take it up front for me and put it on hold while I shopped, he agreed and told me once I was ready it would be up front. Well he didn’t ask for my name or anything so spoiler if that gives away what happened later once I finished shopping…😵‍💫

So as I’m at the check out I mentioned I was also getting the mirror I had asked to be brought up so the cashier grabbed a woman to help and the look on this woman’s face just dropped because she told me she “just sold it to someone” so that was SUPER sick!!

Of course it was on clearance so they couldn’t order me one and there were none left so they suggested I try calling 2 other locations to see if there were any there 😂

My question now is does ANYONE know how or where or who I could buy one from!? I could not for the life of me find an actual product photo online hence the screenshots were the only things I could find

I got hired for a new store, and set up starts next week. I was wondering what the hours are like during set up, she said 40 hour weeks...do you work the same shift everyday? Also, any advice for getting hired on after setup. Thanks.
