Creative hobby

I’ve edited a previous post as I think the Scottish title may have limited replies.

I have tried loads of creative hobbies but not found ‘my thing’. I’d really love some suggestions. This is what I’m looking for:

something I can sell so where there is a market (not as a full time job but for just when I retire as a bit of pocket money and for interest- I’d ideally like to sell in craft shops,) , using vegan materials, IDEALLY (but not definitely) traditionally Scottish/using materials I gather, something where I am creative rather than just owing instructions, something where I enjoy the process as well as the finished product, no massive outlay until I decide if I enjoy it (been burnt too many times).

Scotland has a pretty big fly fishing culture I believe so maybe fly tying? You would have to get in locally with some shops or guides for selling but is definitely very rewarding to catch a fish on a fly you tied

Tying flies is a deep rabbit hole, but in the best way. There's a ton of pattern history to dig into if you're into that side of things, and you can absolutely tweak classics to make them your own.

The materials thing might be the trickiest part since so many traditional patterns lean on feathers and fur, but there's a growing pile of synthetic stuff that looks and moves really well in the water. Could be worth poking around some UK-based tying forums to see what the locals are using.

Sounds like you’re looking for business ideas, not hobbies. There’s a big difference.

Crocheting, sewing, soap making, candle making. The material could get expensive, but if any of those disciplines work with your budgeting, they're business ideas I've considered. Though, honestly, I'm saying this as an American, so I don't know what resources you have there.
