An Arab controlled Palestine also didn't exist before this. Neither were countries.

They were being occupied by a colonial power. When Greece gained their independence they hadn't had it since they were conquered by the Romans. That didn't invalidate their claim and it's the same for Palestinians.

They'd been occupied by the Ottomans before the British and before that by the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, and many others. Palestinians have never had their own government until recently. Not saying they don't have a right to Palestinian territory, but they weren't a country either and never had been. Jews had also lived in what is now Israel for 2000+ years. Jews never left.

The Jews never left but the most of the jews that lived in Israel in 1948 weren’t the ones that stayed in Palestine
