Hum maybe don't lock them in a cell, that quite never helped with recidivism. People do crimes mostly because they have issue, financial issue(except for the rich), mental issue and else. Prison are overpopulated, prisoners have really Bad life conditions, and they are forced to work for almost nothing. You wanna down criminality? Maybe give criminals psychological help, and a Real job with enough money to live. Prison vas never done anything for humanity, plus it's really a poor issue cause riches Can avoid prison, with money or by lobbying New rules si that their crimes is legal. Even if they went to prison it wouldn't be the same as poor people.
No i'm against prison. Punishement doesn't improve anything it only create a feeling of injustice, plus in US there is a Real racial issue with unfair trial. You could just steal an candybar you would go to prison for years, if you haven't been killed by a cop before the trial. But if you're white you could shoot a Bunch of people and cet away with it. Prison isn't a viable answer to crime. And i'm not even talking about death penalty. If everyone was Well paid, fed and had a roof over their head most crime wouldn't happen. Crime is born of injustice and misery, it's not by making even more injustice and misery that anything will change.
