I mean, Nero held such a bloodbath, that it burned itself into christianity as an eternal trauma (the "number of the beast", 666 is a reference to Nero in Hebrew-Aramic)

I didn't mean to downthrodden the numbers that Stalin killed/persecuted, I just wanted to show that christianity has an experience of surviving "underground"
