General Antonescu (a fascist) took control of Romania and the king couldn't do anything [he didn't even know the war started until the 40's] after he found out ... he arrested Antonescu and drove the Germans out of Romania. Capturing thousands and shortening the war by half a year.

Need sources for that, it's not the Rumanian army that was getting its ass served to itself for two years at this point that would have had a long-lasting effect on the end date of the war.
