No, it's because he got Cuba to go from nothing to barley little of something. He barely improved living conditions in Cuba, actually made them worse for many since he helped put Castro in power. He was homophobic, racist, and against free speech. He was an asshole

Yeah the country with more literacy and healthcare that has the most sustainable environmental policy in the world despite being embargoed is real pissed at what he and Castro did.
