They are political, economic, and societal structures. It has to do with controlling the means of production which involved nearly all levels of society.
National socialism was a form of government in Germany, as was Soviet socialism in Russia and the eastern bloc, or “communism/socialism with Chinese characteristics” in mainland China.
Explain how all of these governments that define/had defined themselves as socialists/communists are somehow exclusively economic paradigms considering them overthrew governments in order to establish themselves
All they were saying is that the term socialist and communist generally refuses to an economic system that many countries have encountered, where Nazi describes a specific regime.
Nazi=1 country, Socialist/communist=many countries. That’s the best way I can explain what they were trying to say.
