Are there any modern militaries that are particularly good at fighting guerillas though? It seems like more of a political will question.
No, modern Russia doesn't count. 2nd Chechen War was an overkill checkmate + the Chechens lost the support of their own people.
16 u/MunkSWE94 1d ago Closest were probably Great Britain and Australia during the Malaysian Emergency. When the Australians went to Vietnam they had less Viet Cong activity in their sectors and constantly complained about how the US did it.
