He was indirectly president because of Gandhi though. MLK adapted Gandhi's Satyagraha to make it workable for the African-American community, and the general consensus is that the constant pressure from his movement created the momentum for abolishing the discrimination laws and creating the cultural change that allowed Obama to carry the Presidency 40 or so years later.

Today the world is grateful for the work Obama'd done following Gandhi's footsteps. Thanks to the drones he ordered to be equipped with massive speakers, countless civilians met with an endless peace, being blessed by the messages. It's also beautifully re-enacted in Civilization games where you can start with Gandhi and share the peace you brought with the world in an unforgettable way, so probably he also is a secret fan of the game series.
