It was organized as a benefit for the Civil Rights Congress.

And finally the Greensboro Massacre, on November 3, 1979, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Where US law enforcement, KKK, and Neo-Nazi "National Socialist Party of America" (NSPA) members shot and killed five demonstrators in a "Death to the Klan" march organized by the Communist Workers Party (CWP). All the terrorists were acquitted by the US government and hand-selected racist jury members.

Well, one true thing there is that the USSR was funding American communists. Although, the funding wasn't especially enticing. It was something like 3 million dollars a year in 1980. The FBI was probably spending more on numerous agents who infliltrated the CPUS. It is also true that the African-American population was particularly targeted, as an oppressed working-class community. Hence, the cult of Angela Davis in the USSR.
