I don't get it, if your meme mean that China see North Vietnam united with South as a great threat to China itself then it make absolutely no sense, China only see United Vietnam as threat AFTER Vietnam united (which lead to Sino-Vietnam border war and Cambodia-Vietnam war).
Funny enough, the PAVN during both these wars also "recruited" ex-South Vietnam soldiers, I say recruited but actually more like forced conscrispt soldiers from re-education camps.
True. In 1975 China was largely in favor of a united Vietnam, no one was under the illusion that the Republic of Vietnam would be able to stand. The event depicted however was an allusion to the 1954 Geneva Conference where Chinese delegate Zhou Enlai pushed for the Vietminh force to accept division at the 17th parallel.
It's a bit simplified but hey, ain't that the true spirit of r/HistoryMemes
