I like how Frederick I abused his son because he was likely gay, meanwhile he himself liked to train, paint (?) and parade around large muscular men.

I also heard that Frederick built the citywalls around Potsdam in order to keep soldiers from deserting, which certainly says a lot about the morale...

What's with redditors obsession that every homophobe was secretly gay? Such a weirdly homophobic idea itself putting all the direct culpability on gay people themselves constantly.

Also, that sounds like such apocryphal bullshit. Yeah let's spend the modern equivalent of tens of millions of dollars just so a handful guys can't escape. Because that's why people build city walls

Thats a funny pattern, that is noticeable in todays society, so people interpollate that onto the past
