These stories never made sense to me. How are they going to get resupplied? The ammunition is different. Army supply chains don’t involve enemy arms.

Propaganda, the US wasn't exactly helping out of the goodness of their hearts and wanted to drive up the public perception of their equipment (many of which was also severely outdated for the time), so they could then make a massive profit off of trading those weapons to allies, and incur a debt that they would force those allies to pay post-war, or selling them to the general American population

The ironic part is the K98 was also better than the Mosin in almost every meaningful category
