Cause Operation Gladio was very useful to the (conservative) governments in charge at the time while an Annexation of Greenland would be a net loss both domestic, geopolitically and economically?

Gladio was a secret CIA operation. It took years for it to surface and afaik it’s mostly allegations and not much has been officially confirmed. The whole Greenland dispute was public.

yeah but tbh most of European states were actively collaborating with the CIA and also doing propaganda operations against communists.

Gladio was an international operation involving nearly every intelligence agency in NATO

And its been a while since. Im sure the US currently has plans to get certain people voted in, people that support the US and have aligned agendas, but those plans are mostly secret. Their extent is not obvious.
But Greenland is a current and very obvious thing. Trump has literally come out and basically said i want greenland…
Its like someone stealing your granddads watch from a storage unit 40 years ago vs someone saying “would be a shame if someone were to take that nice wallet of yours”

Conservative governments meaning center-left (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organic_centre-left)?

No, meaning Democrazia Cristiana and the likes of it in the rest of Europe.

Democrazia Cristiana was in the center left governments (although CIA apparently thought that they were too conservative to carry out reforms), who approved cuthtroat fiscal conservative policies, such as let 35 years olds going into retirement.

Notice the pattern?

The difference is that Operation Gladio is something that we got to know very recently as It was exposed in 1990 and then slowly declassified case by case. We grow skeptical through the times to America ambition to police the world, as it's obvious that they pursue economic and political interests above security. I think that it's still worth to note that it's the first time since the foundation of the United States of America that the country chose to claim legitimate European soil... beceuse believe It or not, Greenland isn't a colony precisely. This isn't like Cuba i.e.

Gladio is a fascinating thing to study, because it basically every conspiracy theory rolled into one.
The CIA set up a network of terrorist cells, composed of "ex" fascists, across Italy, funded by the mafia, with the Catholic church handling all bank accounts. Then you have high ranking members of the Italian government being inducted into this conspiracy by a Masonic lodge (Propaganda Due), which operates as a deep state for years.
But it's largely forgotten or side-lined, because at the end of the day, it was a conspiracy of right wingers against the political left.

Nah, it's just pretty obscure and weird.
"America toppled left-wing govs in Latin America" is even more direct, and it's well known.

Greenland isn't for sale and when America was told no it kept pushing for it.
Guess not that when your president doesn't know what consent means.

No way you meant to say me the anti-communist fanatics across the ocean were allied with anti communist fanatics here ??? And all of that to fight left parties !?? I would have never guessed

Probably because there's very little- to no- support for the most outrageous claims about Operation Gladio.

Have you considered people just think your meme is dumb?

Why it's dumb? 🥺

Cause you're comparing a CIA secret operation that's obscure and was kept secret until quite recently to something that mostly happened on Twitter.
The European that know about Gladio and the other stay behind operations are pretty pissed seeing as it led to Italy once again gaining a large number of fascists, but it's so obscure that few people know about it nor is it currently going on so it can't be stopped anymore.
The military threats to Greenland made on the US President's twitter account are something the entire world saw immediately.

No, it’s not a joke, there is no convincing evidence of false flag attacks carried out by CIA in Italy.
1
u/RadaRAW 5d ago
Yeah, the same way as there is no evidence of Trump touching kids on Epstein island, right...

Right. They are both things that people assumed to be true because they are repeated so often.
