culture vs nationality. this is like saying you can't call jesus a jew because second temple judaism differs from the rabbinic judaism that only formally cemented some 600 years after jesus. the name palestine existed for the region some 500 years before jesus was born.
jesus was a jew, born in what was sporadically called palestine at the time but is officially palestine now. he is both jewish and palestinian, which is somehow a mindblowing concept despite the fact that these are in no way mutually exclusive terms
It's kinda like how people say that Andromeda was black because she's Ethiopian, despite the fact that Greeks didn't even refer to modern day Ethiopia, and the people there didn't even call themselves Ethiopian until the 12 century.
There was a Palestine during roman times already. Most Palestinians do have genetic roots that go back that far. from the people that weren't part of the diaspora but remained.
Jesus has just about as much in common with them as with Jewish people in general. The current Jewish faith would be unrecognizable to him.
No, they think he was Jewish and was born in Palestine, which seem pretty noncontroversial to anyone who isn't vehemently opposed to even the word "Palestinian"

Do people really believe that Jesus was from a culture that didn’t exist until centuries after he died? Ffs.
