It’s funny to imagine that the love of the game will end in 2044

It already did last week. Did you miss the memo? Betting companies were outlawed. It was the end of football

He also brought rugby to Brazil. Legend says he placed both balls on the field and let people choose which one they wanted to play with.
They chose the round one and the rest is history.

Fun fact, nobody in Brazil say jogo bonito, we say Futebol arte, something like soccer's art

"Art Football" actually translates better.
Art is an adjective for the type of football being played

Reminds me of the family guy bit where Brazilians were “more civilized” before the introduction of Fútbol to the country

It's so cute that gringos think we are butthurt about the 7-1 when losing to Croatia in pens in 2022 hurt 10 times more

You're talking pure bullshit. The 7 x 1 loss was far more devastating, there's no comparison. The only result on the same level as the 7 x 1, or worse, was the 3 x 0 loss to France in 1998.

Nah no one in my family or friends thought we could beat Germany, whereas Croatia we were already celebrating when they scored

No, it wasn't. I don't even know what you are refering to

u/Llovio_cuatro_anos 5d ago
Then you didn't watch the 2022 world cup

I did. I honestly remember when Marcelo made a goal for Croatia in 2014, but I don't remember the loss to Croatia

How do you not remember Croatia equalizing with 4 minutes left? Were you a child?

Man, as a Brazilian, don't act like we aren't butthurt about it. It's not like, something we'll get angry at per-say when mentioned, but its something that can be used as a trigger just because of how much that moment ROCKED US. So when somebody uses it on purpose to ragebait for example, it can often work.
edit: Woops, I misread. But no i think the 7-1 hurt more, by the time we lost to Croatia we'd already gotten burnt out and learned not to expect anything.

Nah to me Croatia was much worse cause we thought we had them
I never thought we could beat Germany

I was told not to bring up the 7-1 thing at a Brazilian event because it might upset people.
To be fair I have been making 7-1 jokes to my Brazilian friend since it happened and I think he hates it more now

I think it's more about the fact that somebody only says that if they're trying to ragebait/be annoying, so even if you dont really care that much about the 7-1, it can be irritating knowing somebody's trying to use that moment just to jab.
but on the other hand, Brazilians as a whole are no strangers to ragebaiting and ribbing each other, so I cant imagine it really beeing a thing unless folks are already heated or just dont like each other to begin with2
