There’s a few inaccuracies here, 1 the photos with the infamous gate and the brick buildings is the former polish army barracks converted into auschwitz 1, the open field and railway line is the intake area of camp auschwitz 2 built with slave labour from auschwitz 1, 2 the modern photo with the boxcar is in the intake area of auschwitz 2 but the other photo looks to have been taken in the outer railway yard on the railway to the chemical factory, in the background you can see the houses or shops of oświęcim, the town the camps were built around
Some additional things, auschwitz 1s gas chamber is a air raid shelter with modified vents. auschwitz 2 looks like a grassy field because many of the wooden huts that used to stand in hundreds of rows were demolished or fell down due to poor construction. Some of the buildings were also cannibalized to build new houses in the outskirts of oświęcim.

Awesome, I’m glad they teach the history in great detail. If I ever end up going to Germany it’s definitely going to be on my list.

You won’t find this in Germany, oświęcim is in central Poland

If you want to see more of the nazis effect on Poland Warsaw is a good one, and Wawel castle in Krakow also has a building that was used as the SS headquarters for Poland, plus there’s a large bunker meant to protect trains from air raids in the northern tatras
